Working alongside the Account Management and Sales Team, the successful Estimator will support with the high demand of incoming enquiries into the business.

The main role of the Estimator is to produce accurate high-quality quotations from information provided and to contribute to the success of securing orders by following up customer quotations. This is an integral role in driving growth and new business opportunities and would be suited to candidates who have experience dealing with quotations and responding to customer queries/enquiries with a heavily focussed Sales/Customer Service department.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Log and record new enquiry details
• Quantify customer enquiries and provide customers with quality quotations meeting their requirements through high standards of estimating and technical expertise
• Monitor progress on submitted quotations

• Assist with daily organisation and monitoring of new enquiries to ensure customer return dates are met
• Post supply analysis, to understand commercial performance and identify opportunities for margin improvement
• Be responsible for ensuring consistency of commercial information within the department

   

• Maintain the highest level of commercial confidentiality in all aspects of employment

 

• Keep up to date with Company policy and ensure diligent application at all times
• Comply with the Company Quality Management System

Skills & Experience required

The role requires a well organised, flexible individual with strong attention to detail, up to date technical and product knowledge to a detailed level. The successful individual must be able to work in a structured manner to tight deadlines and on their own initiative and thrive in a busy, pressured environment

Essential Experience

• Proven experience as an estimator
• The ability to work unsupervised
• Strong relationship builder with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation
• Have a flexible approach and work well in a small team
• High level of literacy and numeracy skill
• Knowledge of MIS systems – ideally CERM
